Jayme Dawicki's Love Love is a fantastic, indie piano pop-rock album with a mainstream feel. Jayme shows
off her great pop sensibility on the very first track, "One More Year." The driving beat and theme behind,
"72 1/2 Toyota Truck," makes it excellent road trip music. On "Take My Heart," Jayme sings heartfelt,
crystal clear vocals over a lovely arpeggiated piano line. "Battle" is a touching song about losing her friend,
Lindsay Lopez, and "Happy New Year" has a gorgeous, soaring melody. "Twilight (I'm Yours Now)"
is dramatic. It builds beautifully. Then it fades to a simple piano breakdown, and then picks right back up to
the previous level for a wonderful effect. "Spider" contains a great lyrical metaphor for a bad relationship,
and "Shout Out Loud" will have you singing along with its catchy chorus. The album ends with "Save
Me" a stunning ballad with an exquisite melody. There is a hidden track of 10 minutes and 4 seconds of crickets,
cicadas and sounds of a summer Wisconsin night. Outstanding album!
Bootload
of Boogie
Sweaxxy Chogg

Punk rockers Bootload of Boogie's latest release is entitled, Sweaxxy Chogg. The fun first track,
"People Afraid," has a solid rock 'n' roll guitar groove with slightly out of tune punk vocals & lyrics.
"Donut" is kind of funky, and they create a cool effect by over-lapping the vocals at the beginning and ending of
lines. "If You Don't Love Me (Just Fake It)" has a 50's rock 'n' roll feel with a lyrical
punk edge, and "Go-Go Ho Sale" talks about prostituting yourself, presumably to the system. The chorus goes,
"'Cuz I might be a slut, but I ain't your whore. Go to the hotel. We'll check my soul at the door."
The EP ends with "Rock Me Once, Shame On You; Rock Me Twice, B.O.B," which has a Black Flag/early West Coast punk
feel to it. Very entertaining album!
Social
Pretender Earn the Crown

If Nirvana & Gun 'N' Roses had a musical baby, it would
sound like Social Pretender. They are a grunge-influenced rock band from Sweden.
Their EP, Earn the Crown, starts with the title track, "Earn the Crown," which has amazing female
rock vocals, catchy guitar riffs, and a smoking guitar solo. The melody of "Death Saved My Life" is haunting,
and the infectious, "Don't Let Me," has a very effective breakdown, which helps to build and break up the wailing
vocal line. The hard rockin', "Cradle of the Saint," brings a strong ending to this well-produced EP.
Lots of fun!
Bottle
Rocket
Petrichor

Bottle Rocket describe themselves as a Shoegaze, Surf, Indie Rock duo. Their first EP is
called Petrichor. "Tidal Wave" is mellow, atmospheric and heady with soulful, sad vocals. There
is something very endearing about the sound of the lead vocalist's voice. "Tonight (Something Must Be Wrong)"
has a beautiful, catchy melody and captivating drumming. The rhythmically interesting, "When the Leaves Turn Over,"
showcases the duo's excellent songwriting skills. The title track, "Petrichor," is emotional and dramatic,
while the melodic, "November," has great bursts of energy interspersed with expressive breathing spells. The
EP ends with the melancholy, "Closer 115." Amazing first effort! Can't wait to hear more!!!
